Transitions Parkesburg, PA

Due to the sloping topography, this patio required extensive drainage and retaining techniques. A field stone wall, built with stone from a local quarry, features large boulders seamlessly incorporated into the wall. A field stone patio, generous landings and  large stepping-stones provide transition from the family room to the intimate patio space. Working with the clients' skill set, a custom cedar pergola with posts and custom wrought iron saddles smartly follows the footprint of the wall below.

Ground covers, spring bulbs, flowering shrubs, and perennials offer a great compliment to the colorful containers planted by the client. Cool evenings are warmed up with a rustic wood stove. Guests are greeted by a gravel driveway bordered with cobblestone edging.
